6-Phenylhexyl iodide [VIa; Ar is C6H5, R is H] was prepared from 16 g. of 6-phenylhexyl bromide (Preparation C12) and 10.95 g. of sodium iodide in 325 ml. of 2-butanone, to give 19.1 g. of product as an oil.
