Reaction Steps
18 g. of diisobutyl 6-diallylamino-s-triazine-2,4-dicarbamate-3-oxide are dissolved while stirring in 560 ml. of methylene chloride and treated with 1800 ml. of water and sufficient concentrated sodium hydroxide so that the pH value of the mixture amounts to 12.7. The mixture is then stirred for 75 minutes and the two phases are separated. The alkaline-aqueous phase is adjusted to pH 4 with 3-N hydrochloric acid and then extracted three times with methylene chloride. The organic extracts are dried over sodium sulfate and evaporated under reduced pressure. The residue is recrystallized from methylene chloride and diethyl ether, there being obtained pure isobutyl 5-diallylamino-2-oxo-2H-[1,2,4]oxadiazolo[2,3-a]-s-triazine-7-carbamate having a melting point of 161°-163° C.
