In the same manner, condensing stoichiometric amounts of 3-amino-4-ethoxy-3-cyclobutene-1,2-dione with ethyl glycinate produces N-(2-amino-3,4-dioxo-1-cyclobutenyl)glycine ethyl ester, m.p. 231°-233° C.
