Procedure
According to the Procedure B of Example 1, the intermediate of the Example 3 was reacted with methyl chloroacetate. The resulting product methyl 4-(2-ethyl-benzofuroyl) phenoxyacetate (Compound 11) was treated with concentrated ammonia water 28%) 100 ml and was stirred under ice-cooled condition for three hours. The white powder thus obtained, after drying was recrystallized from methanol.
