(+)-1-[2-[3-(3,4-Dichloro-phenyl)-1-(3,4,5-trimethoxybenzoyl)-pyrrolidin-3-yl]-ethyl]-4-phenyl-piperidine-4-carboxylic acid amide (1.17 g, 96.8% ee, 1.828 mmol) was dissolved in dichloromethane (20 mL) and treated with a solution of dichloromethane saturated with HCl(gas) (20 mL). The solution was allowed to stir for 1 h. The solution was concentrated in vacuo to obtain a residue. The residue was dried under high vacuum at 56° C. for 18 h to afford the title compound:
