Combine 4-[1-[2-(tert-butyl-dimethyl-silanyloxy)-ethyl]-4-(3,4-difluoro-phenyl)-1H-imidazol-2-yl]-piperidine-1-carboxylic acid tert-butyl ester (18.3 g; 0.035 mol; 1.0 equiv), tetrabutylammonium fluoride (20.3 g; 0.07 mol; 2.0 equiv) in THF (100 mL) and stir at RT for 3 h. Concentrate, quench the reaction with water and extract with EA. Evaporate the organic layer to give the title compound (3.5 g; 24.49%). MS (ES+): m/z=408(M+H).
