2-Methoxy-1-(3-nitro-7,8-dihydro-6H-5-oxa-9-aza-benzocyclohepten-9-yl)-ethanone (269 mg, 1.01 mmol) and 10% Palladium on Carbon (50% Wet) (65 mg) in Ethanol (10 mL) was shaken under an atmosphere of Hydrogen (40 psi) for 6 h. Following filtration and conc., 1-(3-Amino-7,8-dihydro-6H-5-oxa-9-aza-benzocyclohepten-9-yl)-2-methoxy-ethanone (202 mg, 85%) was isolated as white solids. 1H-NMR (CDCl3): 7.05 (d, 1H, J=8.2 Hz), 6.80 (m, 2H), 4.79 (m, 1H), 4.40 (m, 1H), 4.02 (m, 1H), 3.72 (m, 1H), 3.60 (m, 1H), 3.34 (s, 3H), 2.72 (m, 1H), 2.24 (m, 1H), 1.78 (m, 1H).
