2.2 250 mg (0.666 mmol) of 2-[3-(2,6-dimethylphenylamino)-6-fluoroimidazo[1,2-a]pyridin-2-yl]benzoic acid, 88 mg (0.666 mmol) of tert-butyl carbazate, 153 mg (0.800 mmol) of N-(3-dimethylaminopropyl)-N-ethylcarbodiimide hydrochloride (DAPECI) are dissolved in 1 ml of DMF and stirred at RT for 5 hours. The mixture is subsequently added to water, the precipitated solid is filtered off with suction and dried, giving 187 mg (57%) of tert-butyl N′-{2-[3-(2,6-dimethylphenylamino)-6-fluoroimidazo[1,2-a]-pyridin-2-yl]benzoyl}hydrazinecarboxylate as solid; MS-FAB (M+H+)=490.8; Rf (HPLC, polar method): 1.47 min. This is employed in the next step without further purification.
