Reaction Steps

To a solution of 2-methyl-4-[2-propyl-4-(2,2,2-trifluoro-1-methoxymethoxy-1-trifluoromethyl-ethyl)-phenoxy]-1-nitrobenzene (293 mg, 0.609 mmol) in methanol (3.0 mL), palladium carbon (29 mg) was added and the resultant mixture was stirred for 3 hours under a hydrogen atmosphere. The reaction solution was filtered using celite, concentrated in vacuo, and 2-methyl-4-[2-propyl-4-(2,2,2-trifluoro-1-methoxymethoxy-1-trifluoromethyl-ethyl)-phenoxy]-phenylamine (274 mg, yield >100%) was obtained as a red-purple oil.
