Reaction Steps

To a suspension of 2,2,2-trifluoro-1-(7-nitro-1,2,4,5-tetrahydrobenzo[d]azepin-3-yl)ethanone (1.1 mmol) in MeOH (5 mL) was added 10% Pd/C and the mixture was stirred at RT under H2 (1 atm) for 24 h. After filtration, the filtrate was concentrated to afford 1-(7-amino-1,2,4,5-tetrahydrobenzo[d]azepin-3-yl)-2,2,2-trifluoroethanone (0.27 g, 95% yield). LC-MS (EI) m/z: 259.0 (M+H+).
