Reaction Steps

To a solution of (2S,4R)-2-(1-cyano-cyclopropylcarbamoyl)-4-methanesulfonyl-pyrrolidine-1-carboxylic acid tert-butyl ester (500 mg, 1.39 mmol) in dichloromethane was added trifluoroacetic acid (0.5 ml, 6.99 mmol) at 0° C. The resulting mixture was stirred at 25° C. for 16 h. After complete consumption of starting material, the reaction mixture was evaporated in vacuo to get the crude title compound (500 mg, 1.39 mmol; quant.) which was used in next step without further purification. MS: m/z=258.0 [M+H]+.
