3-(5-tert-Butoxycarbonylamino-2-fluoro-4-methyl-phenyl)-5-methyl-2H-pyrazole-1-carboxylic acid benzyl ester (320 mg) was hydrogenated using 10% Pd/C (40 mg) following the procedure of step 2 to give 3-(5-amino-2-fluoro-4-methyl-phenyl)-5-methyl-pyrazole-1-carboxylic acid benzyl ester (205 mg) as a white solid.
