6-Methoxy-1,3-benzothiazole (35 mg, 0.21 mmol) and 2-bromo-5-(methylthio)pyridine (1.1 equiv) were reacted according to the procedure used for the preparation of 6-methoxy-2-[5-(trifluoromethyl)pyridin-2-yl]-1,3-benzothiazole. This gave the title compound (1 mg) as a pale yellow solid. 1H NMR (CHLOROFORM-d) δ 8.52 (d, 1H) 8.22 (d, 1H) 7.95 (d, 1H) 7.67 (dd, 1H) 7.40 (d, 1H) 7.11 (dd, 1H) 3.92 (s, 3H) 2.58 (s, 3H); MS m/z (M+H) 289.
