A solution of 7-[2-(N-Dodecyl-N-methylamino)ethoxy]-3,4-dihydro-2H-1-benzopyran-2-one (2.0 g, 5.13 mmol) in methanol (30 ml) was stirred at 22° C. for 0.5 h. The solvent was then removed in vacuo at 40° C. to afford the title compound (2.14 g, 100%) as a white solid.
