3-[4-[2-(N-Dodecyl-N-methylamino)ethoxy]-2-methoxyphenyl]propanoic acid, hydrochloride (274 mg, 0.598 mmol) was reacted by the general procedure as described in the preparation of 4-[4-[2-(N-dodecyl-N-methylamino)- ethoxy]phenyl]-1,1,1-trifluoro-2-butanone and afforded the title compound (165 mg, 58%) as a pale yellow oil (b.p. 138-140° C./0.015 mmHg).
