N-methyl-N-[1-(3-methyl-[1,2,4]oxadiazol-5-yl)-2-(2-naphtyl)ethyl]carbamic acid tertbutyl ester (3.3 g, 9.0 mmol) was dissolved in a saturated solution of hydrogen chloride in ethyl acetate (75 ml). After 3 h at 20° C. the reaction mixture was filtered to give 1.52 g of (R) N-methyl-N-{1-(3-methyl-[1,2,4]oxadiazol-5-yl)-2-(2-naphthyl)ethyl}amine hydrochloride.
