Procedure

It is further contemplated that 4-[4-(4-methoxybenzyl)-cyclohexylmethyl]heptane-3,5-dione can be demethylated with boron tribromide according to the procedure of Example 2 to give 4-[4-(4-hydroxybenzyl)cyclohexylmethyl]heptane-3,5-dione [II; Ar is 4-HOC6H4, Y' is CH2, R is C2H5 ].
