Reaction Steps
This compound was prepared similarly to 1-(2-bromo-2-methylpropionyl)-3,3-dimethylurea in Example 7a from 2-bromo-2-methylpropionyl bromide and 1,3-dimethylurea. It was obtained in 38% yield as a yellow oil, νmax (Nujol) 3330 (NH), 1730, 1700 cm-1 (CON. CON). τ(DMSO d6) 6.44 (NMe) 7.13 (d,J 5; NHMe), 7.95 (CMe2).
