This compound was prepared from 4-n-pentylbenzoic acid (15, 53.8 g, 0.28 mol), in a manner similar to the procedure described for trans-4-n-butylcyclohexanecarboxylic acid (11) in Example I, Preparation 1 in an overall yield of 80% (43 g); m.p. 50-51° C. (pet. ether).
