To a solution of methyl 14-cyclohexyl-6-{2-[methyl(pyridin-3-ylmethyl)amino]-2-oxoethyl}-5,6,7,8-tetrahydroindolo[2,1-a][2,5]benzodiazocine-11-carboxylate in THF (0.05 M), BH3.Me2S (20 eq, 2 M solution in THF) was added. The solution was stirred overnight at RT. The solution was carefully quenched by adding 1.25 N HCl in MeOH until effervescence subsided. Then the volatiles were driven off by boiling the mixture to dryness. The crude residue was used directly in the next step; MS (ES+) m/z 537 (M+H)+.
