A suspension of 4-methyl-5-(4-pyrazol-1-yl-phenyl)-thiazol-2-ylamine (1.5 g, 5.85 mmol) in dry DCM is treated with CDI (1.1 g, 7.02 mmol) followed by TEA (1.2 ml, 8.77 mmol). The resulting orange suspension is heated to reflux for 3 hours and then allowed to cool to room temperature overnight. The suspension is filtered and washed with DCM to afford the title compound.
