4-Azido-N-(2-morpholin-4-ylethyl)benzamide obtained in Example 61a) and ethyl 3-oxohexanoate (1.07 ml, 6.35 mmol, 1.25 eq.) were dissolved in ethanol (23 ml), sodium ethoxide (480 mg, 6.35 mmol, 1.25 eq.) was added, and the mixture was stirred at room temperature for 20 min, and then at 60° C. for 13 hr. The resulting solid was suspended in ethyl acetate, and the insoluble material was collected by filtration, washed with ethyl acetate and dried to give the title compound as a grayish white powder (2.44 g, 5.09 mmol, quant.).
