Procedure

300 mg of the compound obtained in Example 28 was dissolved in a mixture consisting of 1.6 ml of a 1N aqueous solution of sodium hydroxide and 1 ml of ethanol. The resulting solution was stirred at room temperature for 3 hours and then at 60° C. for an hour. After the addition of ethanol, the precipitated crystals were separated by filtration and washed with ethanol. These crystals were dissolved in a small amount of water and the solution was adjusted to pH 2 with concentrated hydrochloric acid. The precipitated crystals were separated by filtration and washed with water to obtain 170 mg of the desired compound.
