2.72 g of manganese dioxide are added to a solution of 1.04 g of α-(1-ethoxymethyl-5-pyrazolyl)-2,3-dichloro-4-methoxybenzylalcohol in methylene chloride and the mixture is stirred at room temperature for 27 hours.
