Reaction Steps

Add sodium methoxide (4M, 0.45 mL, 1.8 mmol) to a solution of 2,4-dichloro-7-[3-(trifluoromethyl)pyrdin-2yl]-1,5-naphthyridine (575 mg, 1.6 mmol) in THF (10 mL). Stir at room temperature for 1 hour, add water (15 mL) and extract with ethyl acetate. Wash the combined organic extracts with brine, dry (MgSO4) and evaporate. Purify the residue by flash chromatography (elute with 1:2 hexane:ether) to give the title compound.
