Reaction Steps

A mixture of 2-(3-([2-(3,5-difluoro-phenoxy)-ethyl]-methyl-amino)-propyl)-isoindole-1,3-dione (1 g, 2.67 mmol), hydrazine hydrate (0.8 ml) and ethanol (20 ml) was heated under reflux for 2 hours. The solvent was concentrated and the residue was suspended in diethyl ether. The solid formed was filetered off and washed with ether. The filtrated was concentrated to dryness to give N1-[2-(3,5-difluoro-phenoxy)-ethyl]-N1-methyl-propane-1,3-diamine (0.65 g, 99%).
