Procedure
A mixture of 293 mg of (thiazol-2-yl)-(6-(4-(2,3-difluorobenzoyl)-piperazin-1-ylmethyl)-pyridin-2-yl)-amine (Example 4) with 1 ml of methanol was charged with a hydrochloric acid-1,4-dioxane solution (4 M, 3 ml), followed by stirring at room temperature for 1 hour. The reaction mixture was concentrated in vacuo and the residue was suspended in diethyl ether, filtered and collected to give the title compound.
