A mixture of Example 234A (71 mg, 0.17 mmol) in methanol (8 mL) was treated with 10% Pd/C (0.15 g) for 1 hour under a hydrogen atmosphere. Filtration and solvent evaporation gave the desired compound. 1H NMR (DMSO-d6) δ 2.15 (s, 3H), 4.43 (s, 2H), 5.15 (br s, 1H), 6.77 (d, 1H), 7.28 (d, 1H), 7.30-7.41 (m, 2H), 7.75-7.79 (m, 2H), 9.62 (s, 1H), 13.05 (br s, 1H); MS (ESI(−)) m/e 338 (M−H)−.
