To a solution of COMPOUND 136 (870 mg, 1.39 mmol) in MeOH (14 mL) was added 10N NaOH (1.4 mL, 14 mmol) and the mixture was heated at 40° C. overnight to afford 4,6-dimethyl-pyrimidine-5-carboxylic acid (3-{4-[(3-cyano-benzyl)-(4-hydroxy-phenyl)-amino]-piperidin-1-yl}-butyl)-amide as a pink solid (400 mg, 53%) following an acidic work-up and purification.
