Reaction Steps

To a solution of 4-[hydroxy-(4-methylsulfamoyl-phenyl)-methyl]-piperidine-1-carboxylic acid tert-butyl ester (see EXAMPLE 33) (530 mg, 1.38 mmol) in CH2Cl2 (10 ml) were added PCC (900 mg, 4.1 mmol) followed by SiO2 (1.5 g). The resultant mixture was stirred at room temperature overnight to give 4-(4-methylsulfamoyl-benzoyl)-piperidine-1-carboxylic acid tert-butyl ester (420 mg, 80%) as a colourless oil after purification.
