Reaction Steps

To a vigorously stirred methylene chloride (10 mL) solution of compound 7 (0.8 g, 1.6 mmol) and triethylamine (4.86 g, 48 mmol ) was added methanesulfonyl chloride (5.52 g, 48 mmol) dropwise. The reaction mixture was diluted with additional CH2Cl2 and washed with pH 7.0 aqueous buffer. The organic phase was dried (Na2SO4) and concentrated. The residue was purified by silica gel chromatography (CH2Cl2 : MeOH/99:1) to afford 340 mg (37%) of the title compound.
