Reaction Steps
Compound (8) was prepared from (+)cis-3-hydroxymethyl-1-methyl-4-(4-nitrophenyl)piperidine as described for compound (1) using 3-trifluoromethylphenol instead of sesamol. The crude product was purified on a silica gel column using CH2Cl2 /CH3OH 9/1 as eluent. Identified by 1H NMR. M.p. 271°-272° C.
