Procedure
Following the procedure given in Example 1b the above-named 2-(p-tolyl)-naphtho-[1,2-b]furan was interacted with an equimolar quantity of benzalaniline to produce 2-(4-stilbenyl)naphtho[1,2-b]furan which, when crystallized from xylene and further purified by sublimation, melted at 228°-228.5° C. The wavelength of maximum excitation of this compound was 370 nm., and the wavelength of maximum emission was 426.
