Procedure
The procedure is carried out as in Example 1(b) but with the use of 80.1 g (0.495 mol) of isobutylidene-3-aminomethylpyridine, 2.5 g (0.0223 mol) of potassium tert-butylate and 75 ml of toluene. After a reaction time of 1 hour at 30°-35° C., distillation yields 74.5 g (0.46 mol) of 3-pyridylmethylidene-isobutylamine; yield 93% of theory; b.p. 108° C./2×103Pa; nD20 =1.5198.
