Reaction Steps

To a solution of the product from Step C (2.52 g, 6.98 mmol) and triethylamine (1.41 g, 13.9 mmol) in anhydrous THF (20 mL) at 0° C. was added methanesulfonic anhydride (1.58 g, 9.07 mmol). The ice bath was removed and the reaction mixture was allowed to proceed for 20 min; the reaction mixture was again cooled on ice and morpholine (5 mL) was added. This mixture was stirred for 3 h at ambient temperature, evaporated to dryness and extracted with ethyl acetate (2×100). The combined extracts were dried (MgSO4), evaporated to dryness and purified by column chromatography (silica, 50% ethyl acetate/hexane) to give an oil (2.52 g, 84%).
