Beginning with 1.23 gm (5.5 mMol) N-methyl-5-methanesulfonylamino-1H-indole and 0.88 mL (7.1 mMol) 1-methyl-4-piperidone, 1.4 gm (80%) of the title compound were recovered as a tan, crystalline powder.
