A suspension of 478 mg (1.127 mmol, 1.3 equivalents) of Dess--Martin periodinane (1,1,1-triacetoxy-1,1-dihydro-1,2-benzodioxol-3(1H)-one) in 5.6 ml of absolute CH2Cl2 is mixed with a solution of 284 mg (0.87 mmol) of 14 in 5.0 ml of absolute CH2Cl2 and stirred for 60 minutes at room temperature. After the solvent is distilled off in a vacuum, the residue is flash-chromatographed by a silica gel column with pentane/Et2O (4:1). 222 mg (0.68 mmol, 78%) of 15 is obtained.
