A solution of 3-amino-4-(5-chloro-2-methoxyphenyl)-6-(trifluoromethyl)quinolin-2(1H)-one(500 mg, 1.36 mmol), benzotriazole methanol (202.9 mg, 1.36 mmol) and absolute ethanol (5 mL) was heated to 60° C. overnight (18 hours). The resulting suspension was then cooled and the solids were collected. The solids were then washed with ethanol and air dried affording 4-(5-chloro-2-methoxyphenyl)-3-[[(1H-benzotriazol-1-yl)methyl]amino]-6-(trifluoromethyl)quinolin-2(1H)-one (487 mg, 71.6%).
