Reaction Steps
To a solution of 0.340 g (0.64 mmol) of the product of step A dissolved in 2 mL methanol was added 130 μL of a 5.0N solution of sodium hydroxide and the reaction mixture was stirred at room temperature for 2 hours. At this point the reaction mixture was adjusted to pH=6 with dropwise addition of 6.0N hydrochloric acid and the reaction mixture was concentrated in vacuo. The residue was applied to a silica gel flash chromatography column and eluted with CHCl3 -MeOH--NH4OH (80:15:1). The purified fractions were combined, evaporated and dried in vacuo to afford 0.278 g (86%) of the title compound.
