Starting from 7-chloro-1-cyclopropyl-6-fluoro-1,4-dihydro-4-oxo-1,8-naphthyridine-3-carboxylic acid (0.94 g, 3.3 mmol) and 1,1-dimethylethyl[[4-(3-pyrrolidinyl)phenyl]methyl]carbamate, a procedure analogous to that given in Example 6 provided the title compound (1.30 g) as an off-white solid, mp 268°-272° C.
