Reaction Steps

The indenone obtained in Example 108 (0.9 g) is heated with morpholine (10 ml) for 1 hour. The reaction mixture is poured into a solution of dilute hydrochloric acid and extracted with ethyl acetate, washed with water and concentrated. The produce is obtained with a yield of 98% (m.p.=71.5°; compound no. 109).
