A suspension of 2 0 mg (0.05 mmol) of 1-cyclopropyl-6,8-difluoro-7-[3-(4-methyl-1,2,3-triazol-1-yl) pyrrolidine-1-yl]-1,4-dihydro-4-oxoquinoline-3-carboxylic acid in 2 ml of ethanol was reacted with 3.054 mg (0.05 mmol) of ethanolamine at room temperature for 2 hr. Additional equivalent of ethanolamine was added and the reaction mixture was stirred overnight. The solid was then collected, m.p. 215.5°-216.8° C. 1H NMR (D20) δ: 8.46 (s, 1H), 7.86 (bs, 1H), 7.68 (bd, 14Hz, 1H), 5.46-5.25 (m, 1H), 4.4-3.7 (m, 7H), 3.17-3.07 (m, 2H), 2.76-2.2 (m, 5H), 2.31 (s, 3H), 1.3-1.0 (m, 4H). Anal. calcd. for C22H26F2N6O4H2O: C, 53.44; H, 5.71; N, 16.99. Found: C, 53.68; H, 5.93; N, 16.48.
