Procedure
12.08 mmol of 3-(dimethylamino)propylamine are added at ambient temperature to a solution of 12.08 mmol of 4-nitrophenyl 5-chloro-2,3-dihydro-2-oxo-1H-indole-1-carboxylate in 70 ml of dichloromethane. The reaction is immediate. After extraction of the resulting solution with a 0.05N solution of sodium hydroxide until the aqueous phase no longer exhibits a yellow colour, the organic phase is dried, filtered and evaporated under reduced pressure. The expected compound is isolated in the form of a brown solid.
