The title compound was prepared from 3-dimethylaminophenol and 3-(3-bromo-4,5-dimethoxyphenyl)-2-cyano-acrylic acid ethyl ester by a procedure similar to that described for Example 16 in 0.5% yield. 1H NMR (CDCl3): 7.21-7.18 (m, 2H), 6.98 (d, J=1.8 Hz, 1H), 6.62 (dd, J=2.4, 9 Hz, 1H), 6.53 (d, J=2.7 Hz, 1H), 3.96 (s, 3H), 3.92 (s, 3H), 3.15 (s, 6H).
