To 4-(2-(2-(2-(2-azidoethoxy)ethoxy)ethoxy)ethyl)-1,2,4-triazolidine-3,5-dione (I-18c: 3 mg, 9.92 umol) in CH2Cl2 (1 mL) was added SiO2-HNO3 (25 mg). The mixture was stirred at room temperature for 15 minutes, then filtered, concentrated in vacuo and dried giving 4-(2-(2-(2-(2-azidoethoxy)ethoxy)ethoxy)ethyl)-3H-1,2,4-triazole-3,5(4H)-dione (I-18c: 3 mg, quantitative) as a pink oil.
