Procedure

To methanol (260 mL) of the compound obtained in Example 57 (6.9 g) was added dropwise 1 mol/L of an aqueous sodium hydroxide solution (26 mL) at room temperature, and the mixture was allowed to stir for 21 hours. To the residue obtained by distilling off the solvent under a reduced pressure was added water, and the mixture was made acidic with 10% citric acid. The solution was extracted with ethyl acetate and thereafter the organic layer was washed with saturated sodium chloride solution, and dried over anhydrous sodium sulfate. The solvent was distilled off under a reduced pressure, to give the captioned compound (5.4 g, 81%) as an oily product.
