A solution of 6-[cyclohexyl(cyclopropylmethyl)amino]-N-[4- (hydroxymethyl)phenyl]pyrimidine-4-carboxamide (Intermediate 23, 990 mg; 2.60 mmol) in DCM (100 ml) was treated with Mn02 (2262 mg; 26.0 mmol) and the reaction mixture was stirred at room temperature for 18 hours the mixture was filtered through celite and the solvent was removed under vacuum affording the title compound as a yellow solid (912 mg; 79%), which was used without further purification for the following steps.
