2-Chloroethanesulfonyl chloride (0.885 g) in N,N-dimethylacetoamide (7.0 mL) was added dropwise to a solution of 3-[4-(4-methylphenoxy)phenyl]pyridin-2-amine (1.00 g) in N,N-dimethylacetoamide (3.0 mL) at 0° C. The mixture was stirred at 70° C. under N2 overnight. EtOAc and IPE was added dropwise to the mixture at room temperature. The solid was isolated by filtration and washed with water, IPE and EtOAc to give the title compound (1.07 g) as a gray solid.
