EtOAc (15 mL) was added to {1-[6-(4-chloro-benzylamino)-5-nitro-pyridin-2-ylcarbamoyl]-ethyl}-methyl-carbamic acid tert-butyl ester (300 mg, 0.65 mmol) and 10% Pt/C (80 mg). The mixture was stirred under an atmosphere of hydrogen for 2 hours. The mixture was filtered and the filtrate was concentrated in vacuo to give {1-[5-amino-6-(4-chloro-benzylamino)-pyridin-2-ylcarbamoyl]-ethyl}-methyl-carbamic acid tert-butyl ester which was used immediately in the next step.
