Reaction Steps

To a solution of tert-butyl N-[(1S,2S)-2-(cyclobutylamino)cyclopentyl]carbamate (400 mg, 1.573 mmol) in dry DCM (5.3 ml) was added DIPEA (1.3 ml, 7.86 mmol) and 2,6-dimethoxybenzoyl chloride (CAS number 1989-53-3; 473 mg, 2.359 mmol). The reaction was stirred at room temperature for 1 hour and was then partitioned between DCM and water, filtered through a hydrophobic frit and concentrated in vacuo. This was then purified by column chromatography (basic silica, 0-100% ethyl acetate/petrol) to afford the title compound.
